Brett Petersen

Brett Petersen enlisted in the United States Air Force at age 18 where he served over three years before being honorably discharged. After the military, he pursued a career in law enforcement and put himself through the Butte College police academy. After he graduated from the academy, he was hired by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office where he spent over two years before accepting a position as a Deputy with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Petersen worked all different facets within the department and spent his last 13 years as a Detective within the investigative unit. He investigated everything from burglaries to homicides, but most of his time was spent in the sexual assault unit being an advocate for those victims who did not have a voice.

Mr. Gomes and Mr. Petersen worked side by side in El Dorado County for a multitude of years to bring cases to a positive resolution for the victims. When Mr. Petersen retired from the sheriff’s office, Mr. Gomes wanted to continue the strong working relationship they had developed over the years. Mr. Petersen obtained his private investigator’s license and joined The Law Offices of Dale R. Gomes where he will continue to assist in bringing positive resolutions for both the clients and their families.
